Full Time Experienced Constable

The Nelson Police Department is hiring experienced Canadian Police Officers (in the Province and outside of British Columbia). This is an opportunity to join one of the oldest departments in the province.
 
A small city with a big personality! Nelson is situated on the West Arm of the Kootenay Lake in the heart of the Selkirk Mountains and is home to an eclectic mix of long-time residents and those who are here for the lifestyle. This vibrant town boasts many well-preserved heritage buildings, amazing restaurants, bustling coffee shops, retail and sidewalk cafes. Nelson is also famous for its year-round playground for outdoor enthusiasts, such as skiing, hiking, biking, cycling, kayaking, boating and golfing, to name a few.
 
You may be eligible as an exempt candidate if you:

  • Are currently a serving member of a Canadian Police force and
  • Have had a minimum of two years' service with a Canadian Police force following graduation from their police training and
  • Successful completion of the B.C. Provincial Exemption Exam, and
  • Have an exemplary service record.

 
Compensation: The salary is $109,075 per the collective agreement as of January 2024.
